Hello Dancers and Drummers,

We are working on all the details and will post a flyer soon but I wanted to let everyone know about a very special "Day and Night of 9/8" with Pacita Prasarn of NYC (dance) and Mike Gregian (drum and song).

It will be held on Sunday, November 22, 2009 at Ancient Art Studio in 590 Berkley Street, Berkley MA and will culminate with a very special SHIMMY SHACK show featuring Pacita and guests dancing to LIVE MUSIC by Mike Gregian's SHIMMY SHACK ensemble.

Workshops will include Pacita showing us ways to dance to 9/8 with earthiness, passion and authenticity. And Mike will show drummers a variety of 9/8 rhythms and how to play them against the music — it will be a rare opportunity for student drummers to practice along with a melody player.

Pacita is one of my favorite dancers of all time — she dances to the 9/8 (Kashlimar) rhythm with an authenticity rarely seen. I am excited and proud to help bring her here — details to follow soon!
